going down the rabbit hole, just like me LOL its hard not to take care of some other item that wasn't necessarily a problem when you get going, been doing the same thing with my car, about to change all the steel freeze plugs in mine,

I've been in the rabbit hole I'm sitting here thinking dang I should buy a cam since everything is off already anyways. I just don't know much about cams and which would be a good one for my set up. Also new cams mean; new rockers, lifters, springs and rods I believe.

Plus I should probably get it all put together, make sure timing is right, make sure cooling is good, make sure carb is tuned right and check compression before anything else is done to the engine. The more I read the more I am seeing that it's about the whole set up and how all the parts work together to get the best performance now just adding 1 part.

Although when I add stuff I want to add things knowing the 727, 8 3/4 rear end with 3.23 gears and sure grip are going in. These are what I have so that's what I'm using, no point in thinking something else will be used except those because I don't need to spend extra money on new parts when I already have some good ones. I want to pull out my 727 this week and check out part #s on the torque converter to see exactly what I have in the trans .
