It does get absorbed in your skin over time, I always painted fully covered, but my face exposed.
My current employer, (aircraft) the painters are in fresh air suites, so no chemicals touch their bodys.
Breathing fresh air, and the suites also have ac pumped into it. It must be a luxury or a huge pain for the painters with the heavy paint suites they wear.
