Hydroponic Green house, cheap, very effective. At least on a small scale. I tried it a couple years back and it went nuts, had more tomatoes than I could manage, ended up killing it off on purpose. I'd only tried tomatoes and lettuce, both did very well. Peppers did ok until the peppers got too heavy and broke the plant. I think I maybe had 60 bucks in mine. But I made 140 quarts of Tomatoe juice and 20 quarts of salsa before calling it quits
