ProComp/Speedmaster aluminum heads

As you said I know exactly were you are coming from BUT weigh your options carefully and sometimes for a few dollars more you can get a way better quality product. You probably read my post on ProMaxx heads. My buddy finally got the set I checked out for him on his 340 and just told me tonight how well it runs. This guy is on a budget budget, and I try to help him out when I can. I just sold him a deep sump oil pan, pickup, and a used pump he can checkout sometime for 50.00. ProMaxx heads are finish machined and assembled in good old USA.
$1,952 for promax.
Please let no one forget $2-300 in gaskets bla bla to make it all work...
Here's what the budget mind is thinking...
Promaxx is $48 away from being 2K if there is free shipping...
And Speedmaster is within a hundred or so on a good sale of $1, 000...
No?
Keep in mind my realistic expectation...
I'm looking for the realistic expectation of 50 lb or so lighter, a realistic chance that the aluminum heads will dissipate enough Heat along with a thick enough head gasket to run pump gas, and finally gained a considerable amount a flow over a stock ported cast iron head. and of course we could get into how good the stock head was ported like stock Eliminator or out in my garage...
And yes that's why I started this thread to weigh this option for me personally and for others that may be breathing as well..
As in okay I went to cheap Road. now did I save anything or did I just cost myself. I've done it before. I threw the 7 1/4 away as soon as I got the car off the trailer when I bought it. Had very little into an 8 1/4 got the stoker and figured I was going to blow it up so built and 8 and 3/4 and 20 passes later blew that up LOL and now a built Dana 60. Do you think I tell new people thinking about rearends to just get a Dana 60 to begin with? LOL I understand your intentions, but this is basically about the speed Masters...
