For car: 1969 Barracuda convertible, Driver side B Pillar.

It's required to have a rock solid driver side B Pillar with good striker pin.

If the only issue is the striker then I would fix it. Much less to worry about that way than to replace the whole B pillar. I repaired my drivers side and reinforced the passengers side when I did the quarters.
The drivers side I welded up the cracked area and on both sides plug welded in a reinforcing plate on the inside and then welded the cage back in. Pretty easy repair that you can’t tell was ever done.

The pillars are from the body belt line up to the roof. No B or C pillars on a 'vert if that helps at all?

I have a pair of striker pin cages from a 74 duster I will use on my 67. These came with heavy duty plates attached to them by 74, and spot welded to the back of the jamb. Will be doing the same on my sons 69.

THX everyone. I found a Barracuda donor B pillar.

If your car is as nice as that avatar, changing out the whole B pillar is going to be major surgery. Better to graft in a small square at the broken striker area, and repaint just the jamb area.

Yes. My guy did the patch using the donor piece. Here is my car getting new AMD full Qtrs.

AMD Qtr on driver side. My guy is now working on the Passenger side. Replacing both trunk drop offs with AMD. They fit beautiful. The pretty picture of the car is before the surgery.
