170 engine build

don't have the stall yet the engine and trans is the original one in the 69 valiant i have..... engine never has been rebuilt it has 82,000 miles on the car
OK, just wanted to check that you had a trans that matched the engine. The 170 engine only had the large pilot in 68, and 69, and the 68-69 trans will not bolt up to the 67 and older engines, without a special converter.. I recommend you do not buy a "off the shelf" converter. There are several good converter manufacturers with experiance with the slant six. I use Edge racing converters, myself. Edge Racing Converters, More Horsepower with More Torque Guaranteed! talk to Andre. I think there are better cams then the clifford, but if you already have it, go ahead and use it.

Just a thought, you could call Wiseco, and see if they can move the pin hole, so the piston will work with the 170 rod, and get a price, if they can do it.
