A 1974 Duster - My 2nd one, 41 years later!
Cley, The Pro Flo 4 is truly awesome. Install was easy, all the parts are nice, the read out screen via the 7” tablet is awesome, the other FTech system has a lousy screen read out. Tuning is indefinite. Not even comparable to the FiTech unit I had before. Hands down, Pro Flo 4 is a better system for sure. It costs more, but you have to consider you get a very nice intake manifold and a very nice Mallory distributor and the ECU is separate and sits on the fender apron, not inside of the throttle body as it does with the other unit. Heat and computers don’t jive so well.
When installing the PF4 all grounds must be there. I had forgot to ground the engine to the chassis, that needs to be done. Also be very careful with the coil you select. Primary Resistance & Inductance is very important, so not “any” coil will work if you are letting PF4 provide the spark and are not using a CDI box, which I am not. Wrong coil and you can and will burn up the ECU. Directions say if you are using your own CDI box then you can use any coil you want. It is $512.00 to buy a new ECU, so coil selection is critical. PF4 gives you a list of coils to use.
That all said, yup PF4 is a nice system, I will be buying the same system for my Dart.
