Bare metal preservation

I bought this 69 cuda very solid nice fenders but somewhere along the line it got the paint stripped off and is covered in surface rust.
What are some ideas to stop the rusting until I'm ready to work on it thought about this stuff we have at work but if you bump it to it its greasy
Any ideas?
