Call me crazy, but I'm considering moving to Montana, land prices are pretty good and the views are amazing.
I would not at all call you crazy, Montana is a beautiful state. And people are very different, some like mountains, some like it flat, some like it moist, some like it dry, some like it cold, some like it hot. Should be at least one state that fits your requirements. Now you live in la la land it says in your profile, so I guess most states would be an upgrade to that. Ha ha.
I want to move too, my wife wants to move, but she is on the fence still. I wish we could move to Maine, colder, real winter (which I miss), close to the ocean with the kinds of fish I like, and colors in the fall (which I also miss). Low property prices, and far less crime.
And no tax on pensions for retired people unless it is over a certain value, and my wife and I are far under that when the time comes. Decent gun laws too, compared to this state.
But my wife is unsure about how she will get along with the Mainers, lol. They speak a little different than here in California. I have read that Mainers does not like people moving there and complain about the snow. My wife love snow, and so does I.
