Stop in for a cup of coffee
Could go that route,, but then I am doing a second step to paint it and the outer coat is still just paint. I could just roll on some rustoleum and let it tack up so its rough. Except I want it flat/matte not high gloss. Just looking for simple and rough enough to blend in the repair panel. I think someone made a chip guard spray, but haven't seen it on the shelf. Might check Pep Boys. Not worried about painting it today. Just want to get it together. Just dug the rust out. Looks like a small area comes above the repair piece at the rear dog leg. And a little of the flange at wheel is gone. So may need to piece that in and slap a little bondo on that. Should be a lot easier/quicker than repair I did in that area on the other side.
