When the flood was in the mid west last year / winter, the corn fields did not produce enough corn for California to have it's mandatory 10% or whatever alcohol in the gas. So, California refused to lower the amount of alcohol for the few weeks it lasted. The refineries here were running on half capacity and the price on gas was over 4 dollars some places.

And this electric car stuff, first of all it is not enough resources for everyone in the world to have an electric car, talking long term now. But, short term, if they make it impossible to drive in gas cars, it means there will be a huge split in the people because not at all all people can afford an electric car, they are after all considerable more expensive than a gas car. It will be an elite in society that can afford a car, and all the others will walk, bike or ride the bus.

It must be other ways to solve the issue.
