The BMR is about right with anything beyond that calculated in. BMR is just what it takes to stay alive while laying flat and doing nothing.

This calculator is one of the several that I use to cross check. It’s a decent reference point.

There is a figure in addition, 1.2 for being lazy :-), 1.37 for having a little more activity, and then other figures for even more activity.
