Replace cable shift 904

Get a 66/67 transmission to keep the small register torque convertor and gain the more popular sector shaft shifter and a Hurst Pro-matic (II) shifter. It will fit under the original console and will look so much like the original that only the solid ball will be different (as well as the HURST logo on the side) you'll have to ditch the console ashtray (hits new shifter frame unless you section out the ashtray bottom) and trim the original shifter hanger mount off the hump, but looks stock after that. Gonna have to get a new slip-yoke driveshaft too....
In hind sight, the OEM cable shifter worked pretty good, and the B&T yoke worked good too, just keep it lubed once a year. Save yourself a new trans, shifter and driveshaft. May as well get that 8.75 rear under there so you'll only need to get a new driveshaft once.
