The worst part however is on the bottom of the trunk opening. The metal lip is not like on the upper part.
I have to write down the types of glues you guys have mentioned and see if I can find any of it here, or if Brown or Newsom have gotten rid of everything that smells.
Look in the shop manual. They have a pretty extensive set of drawings for placement of weatherstrips - usually the magnifications show the profiles.
Aftermarket is full of so-so to plain wrongo 'restoration' parts that are nothing like the originals. Softseal and Steele are usually about the right profile but I wouldn't bet the house on anybody's. Compare with originals or pictures of originals and factory info whenever possible. My guess is what you have is about right for your car, but I don't know that.
Glues. I used the 3M yellow first. Then the second or third attempt was the 3M black weatherstrip cement. But that's now coming off too as you saw in the photo. Got a fair number of years out of it this time.
