Tried to search for it, but can not find anyone talking about it.

I have found two types of Pentastar medallions online. Both seems to be the same size and so, but one is sort or silver finish, while the other is more gold like.

When do you use the silver one, and when do you use the gold one ?

My 1965 Dodge Dart have the gold one, but not in the best shape. If it is original or not I have no clue about.

Do you mean the ones on the right front fender?

All the reproductions seem to be the gold ones. I only remember seeing silver ones on my cars over the years, not gold.

Early Neon cars had gold Pentastars on them. I have never seen a gold one on and old A body only silver. But that doesn't mean much... LOL

Not sure if they put them on all of their vehicles, my 73 Duster never had one from the factory.

I had some stached in my tool box from parts cars I had in the past, some silver some gold, the gold ones came off 70 coronet R/T's I think the silver ones came off 68 chargers.

The silver I believe is from the paint wearing off.

I have one that sat outside on a car for years . The top half is silver the bottom half is gold. it was a plastic one with a metal cap . I believed it was faded from sunlight. I have some that look brass that have a nut holding them on.

I purchased one from eBay that was supposed to be original, but is a new plastic copy. Looks good, but finish probably will wear off quickly

I replaced several pentastars on cars with wrecked fenders back in the day. Those on the sixties cars were all gold. I still have several that I removed from 64 to 72 cars, all gold. The early ones were pot metal and later were plastic. Not sure when they changed but it seems like in 1967.

All the cars I ever had were 69+ and had silver. Maybe they changed or maybe the gold wore off very early in their life. I have run across a silver reproduction but most you see for sale are the gold ones.
