What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?
I tore apart the dash on my SC400 and rebuilt the LED needles to fit (had to reverse the polarity of red 94's to light on a orange needle '92 dash...so stupid!) Then I managed to kill the needle LED voltage on the temp gauge, and
then managed to booger up the tach so it dragged. Found the disk that the clockspring wound up on was pushed into the base and of course that meant the disk would crack and break when I tried to wedge it off. So no more tach, no more lit temp gauge but the speedo and fuel are blazing red again! These LED's are like fossils after 25 years of heat and lighting, you take them out and they break apart like a dry leaf. The dash glass is a smoked window that makes it dark if the needles are not illuminated so it was basically an invisible needle, you had to watch for the tick marks to be covered up to know how fast you were going and this car is quiet and smooth so its very easy to speed in it.
