I have been searching on my phone, can not find it. But if you think about it, there is a tiny little coil in the electronic distributor and the rotor passes it, it creates a signal. A plus and a minus that goes through the two wires to the ECU box. Now, if you manage to find out which of the two wires to connect via a resistor to the car battery, and then connect the other side to the points, you will have exactly the same signal to the ECU.

You are talking about the magnetic trigger device. That is not the same as ignition points...
