Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good morning everybody, and everyone else who feel left out from the everybody. :D

Anyway, my question about the tail lights. I guess it was a minimal explanation. What I meant was, miy tail light bezels are pitted. I have seen worse, but I can not believe they would look good after re chroming. So, my question was, can the pittiing be repaired. I remember reading about it, maybe like 20 plus years ago and I think it said someone drilled in the pit hole, and filled metal in it. But this metal, can it be repaired at all filling metal in. Can it be soldered for example ?

Bill

Pitted pot metal can be repaired and rechromed. I bet your 4 taillights would cost $2000 or more to do.
Ouch $. I know they ain't cheep, but never saw a price. Generally I heard if they aren't rare, they aren't worth doing though. I don't think solder wills stick to the pot metal. Don't know what they use for filler. The ones for my Duster are repopped for $400+ for the pair. I found nice used ones. Bought several tail lights and put together all the best parts. Then sold everything I had left from them at Carlisle. Probably ended up with less than $100 in the 2 lights I kept.

Good Morning
