Found the article about the battery additive.
It's a one of the typical 'infomercial' type articles that appear in
Sportscar magazine.
Tetrasodium EDTA
I'll scan it later, but basically it claims to break down otherwise insuluable lead sulfate on the plates.
My take is it may be useful in certain situations.
I like the method one guy posted on-line; remove the acid, put in the tetrasodium EDTA and let it do its thing. Empty the stuff and put the acid back in.
'Like' as in sounds like an effective way to use it and not further damage the battery.
Not as in, I feel like dumping battery acid in a tub and actually doing it. LOL
