do not soak plastic bowl. I believe that's what kills the adhesive on those well caps. Soaking the bowl for extended periods in harsh chemicals eats up the smooth finish on those bowls, and it is TOTALLY unnecessary. I clean my tq bowls by hand with an old toothbrush and solvent cut with ATF. Replacement bowls, if you can still get your particular bowl, are nearly $200, no soaking is necessary for the bowls.
I don't think jb weld will last on the well caps.
be careful soaking the cast base and top, too. If you let it sit in it too long, it will take the Teflon coating off of the throttle shafts, and it will take the (gold) cad plating off of the plated linkage parts, too.
