So mine did the same thing. I took it in and I knew the salesman. He took my phone and hooked it up to the computer and then handed it back to me working. He said it is because your contract has been up. Most people come in and get a new phone and a new contract. My phone worked for another 6 months and it did it again. I went back in and had it done again. I am now with Cricket with the same phone....3 years now and no phone problems AND NO CONTRACT and the use Verizon towers! I hate Verizon
