I got around to assembling the new rear of my Valiant but noticed the shackle bushings that my Hotchkiss springs came with are a larger diameter than stock and wont fit through the rear spring mount. The old mounts are toast anyways but where would I find new larger rear mounts that I can be certain will fit the larger Hotchkiss bushings before ordering online and finding out it's the same factory size.

I just put mine in yesterday. It was tough but I did get them in. Run a wire brush through them to get out the old rubber and lube them up. If you taper the edge a bit you can get them started easier. I then used the vice to press them in.

We took the stock A body mounts off, the tubes were only tach welded so we ground those off and installed larger tubes to accept the B body polly bushings i ordered. New leaf springs came with B body bushings.

If tey are poly bushings they come in 2 sizes. I had mine turned down to fit.

Yeah, I think maybe that's the best way for me to get them in. There's just no way I feel like fighting the bushings and then the shackle studs. Turning them down sounds like a fantastic idea.

I think the bushing sizes changed around 69 or 70 on the a bodies. The older ones were bigger, I believe.
