Complete 3 Speed.... Your thoughts !!!!

I remember two gear ratios, something like; the 3.09-1.67-1.00, and 2.55-1.49-1.00
The side-cover A230s were synchronized in all forward gears and the size of those guts is very similar to the A833. They are good, stout, reliable units. They work very well with lo to mid performance, hi-torque engines, and they're good to slam up there until your 4-speed is ready.
Cast-iron Chrysler top-loaders, IMO , were never a contender. Back in the late 70s I was working in a transmission rebuilding shop, and saw hundreds of those come across my bench. I marvelled at how those lo-perf units were built. But I built way more GM 3-speeds than anything else. Also IMO, they were better than the GM pre-Saginaw stuff.
Then they moved me up. I loved that job, always moving me up,up, there was no top in sight.
