3 FISH LIMIT AL's BUDGET BUILD
Kind of a late start, so I'll have to do some back tracking to get back to this point.
Here is the 67 Barracuda I have now in progress. fred-scigliano convinced me to make the thread !
Now Back to the beginning.
About 3 years ago I thought I needed a project so I found a 67 Fastback on craigslist.
Bought it , drug it home. Let the Games Begin !
Paid $3500 for it. Pretty complete , /6 auto on the floor. Pretty rough. After getting into it and cutting out all the rust, wasn't much left.
Looks better in the pic .every body part was rusted out. Decided to just part it out and cut the loss. Actually got almost all my money back. A local guy here bought some interior pieces for the 2 cuda project he was going to tackle. Picked up that A 100 ( in the garage )
meanwhile for my project. At least it was driveable. So after a year or so the guy with the 2 cudas started asking if I wanted to buy them. $3500 for both plus the extra parts . Went to look at what he had , was thinking Hell No, Been there all ready. Then he started dropping his price to where I couldn't say no.
This is ( was ) a 68, 318, 4 spd, 8 3/4, with a rally dash. Bucket seats and console. Parts Car.
By the way the last owner of this car was Jesus !
Here's the 67 . Someone had done alot of body work. It was a 318 auto with 7 1/4 rear end. Floor console, A/C car.
The extra parts consisted of 2 318s , one was supposed to be a running engine and the other sat and was locked up a bit. Both had aluminum intakes and cams. One 4 spd set up and one A727. Had an extra K frame with disc and sway bar set up and an extra set of rear leaf springs. Which both turned out to be 67 big block parts . CHA CHING. And the small mother load of parts.
Moving forward, I saved the 4spd and 8 3/4 , Dash and interior parts from the 68 to use in the 67, along with what ever else was of use to someone . Started listing parts for sale to fund the 67 project.I have sold enough parts to recover the purchase price of the two cars, have enough parts to keep the out of pocket expense low ( I hope ). So that's how it came about . Thanks to all the guys on FABO for buying my parts to help fund my project.
So this is the 67 I started with.
