The viton or rubber seal and bearing go in the top of the column before the washer and nut go on. Piece directly under the steering wheel. The clips on the bottom go on either side of the pin and slide into the box. Not 100% on the tiny tiny pin that is in the kit on the left side

Here are the individual parts. The chrome clip thing? Where dose this get used at? Also what about the spring type clip next to the dogs?Is the third pic the one that goes below the steering wheel?

I had the spring clip on mine for a while, but its also a PIA when working on it.
This Spring when I had the steering column out anyway, I installed a replacement cover and punched it down after bending the tabs.
There's guidance about this in some threads - either here or moparts IIRC.
I used a puller as a third hand to keep the cover in position

I like the pin, not a fan of the clip. My 65 had neither and I could pull the column up 3 inches while driving..Yikes! Sometimes there are 2 square cardboard pieces included in the seal kit, never found what they were supposed to be used for.

They are IN the package, why would they go through the hassle of packing these if they were waste? Some of the early stuff are perfect rectangle seals, no round bulge.

Guess I'll be pulling my steering column out again, 65 Dart with manual steering, wish I had seen all this when I did mine, and mine had the wrong coupler on it to start with, which I didn't know, and it had no "guts" inside the coupler = 1/2 round of play in the steering wheel. I never could get the large roll pin to go in, it was to large in diameter, had to use a bolt/washer and lock nut.
After I got everything back together I also could pull the whole steering column out of the coupler, I haven't driven the car, but my solution was/is/will be to drill either side of the brace the secures the column under the dash and insert two self tapping sheet metal screws so the column can't slide up and down/in and out.
I'm glad I saw this, I'll have to rethink it and perform a do-over.

So, I’m pretty sure the 1/8” cold rolled round goes on the shaft and box if thats what you are still wondering. Once everything is in place, it clips on the box and pushes down. Mine being a 67 would explain why I had no place for the tiny pin

That is the most complete column renew kit I have ever seen. Where did you buy it?

Me? If so Detroit Muscle. Oh and my car is a 67 with the small pin... Go figure that...
I'm almost certain my 67 had the tiny pin in place also. I don't think I ever serviced a coupling that didn't have that pin. All were 67 and later though.
I distort the original lid just enough to pop it off so I can reuse it. I haven't needed that wire retainer. I did need to hunt down a new upper bearing when working with a lesser coupling kit. Good luck with yours.

DIY alert!
I took an old dead Phillips screwdriver and cut the tip off of it creating a great tool for driving out both the roll pin and the tiny pins!

Good luck on that huge pin on end of shaft. That thing dont come out! Would be nice to R&R the lower column bushing/bearing without pulling the entire shaft. Save the pre-65 rectangle coupler box shoe spring as the new one wont fit.

No doubt. I ended up pulling the column out of my 66. Way easier to replace the lower seal/ bearing that way.
