Kinda having a brain fart here getting my 66 Dart back together. I've noticed the steering couple on the 66 Dart does not have the master spline that the later ones do. Is the installation procedure to just install the steering column w/ coupler onto the steering box in whatever way, then just center it steering box, then install the steering wheel how you want it?

Look at the splines in the coupler, You will see a slot that is to index it. Line that slot up with the top of the steering stem that has a similar slot to index the steering wheel.

The coupler on an early a-body (at least the one on my 66 Dart) doesn't have the thicker spline that indexes on the thicker spline in the steering box shaft.

You got it right. Find the center of the gearbox and install the wheel accordingly.
