Steering Coupler 1967 Barracuda

Guess I'll be pulling my steering column out again, 65 Dart with manual steering, wish I had seen all this when I did mine, and mine had the wrong coupler on it to start with, which I didn't know, and it had no "guts" inside the coupler = 1/2 round of play in the steering wheel. I never could get the large roll pin to go in, it was to large in diameter, had to use a bolt/washer and lock nut.
After I got everything back together I also could pull the whole steering column out of the coupler, I haven't driven the car, but my solution was/is/will be to drill either side of the brace the secures the column under the dash and insert two self tapping sheet metal screws so the column can't slide up and down/in and out.
I'm glad I saw this, I'll have to rethink it and perform a do-over.
