Ok- not 100% sure it was in the pan.

Background: recently replaced my servos, band struts, accumulator and valve body in the car. Decided to go to a different stall so dropped the trans (my first time) and while I have it out decide to go to a different KD level per the CRT valve body instructions.

After I got the trans out, I rolled it on its side, pulled the pan off, pulled the plug in the bellhousing to slide the old lever out and replaced it with the new one while I held the band strut in place and put the plug back. When I went to clean up a bit of trans fluid I saw this sitting in the puddle. Did it fall out of something when I was changing the KD lever? It’s a little hollow tube.

If you have a deep pan. It looks like one of the three spacers for the filter extension.

It’s a good thought, maybe it was in there from before? I have one of these spacers installed- no bushing.

No mystery there! Bad deal. But why?

I just rebuilt my 727 and don’t recall anything that looks like that. The closes resemblance would be Sprag roller and it’s not that.

I second the above, my deep pan had hollow tube spacers for the filter.

You guys are great. Just pulled out my old spacer and guess what... it’s missing one. It must have slipped when I was unbolting the filter and somehow hung up somewhere. Crisis averted!
