If you're going to sand the engine compartment down to paint, instead of sandblasting....do yourself a favor before you start. Look for and at every spot weld in there, and see if there are any slag spurs sticking up. If so, take a die grinder or Dremel to them and smooth them out. You won't be able to use a sanding block on all of it, and when you sand it by hand...the slag spurs on the welds will tear thru the sandpaper and drag a hunk out of your fingers!
