anyone know how many 1971 Twisters were produced?

I'm looking at this car. It shows the A51 code 340 car picture isn't great but it's all I have right now

Whoa! simopar7172, very interesting...
We know the factory could do some stamping mistakes, but we also know they built some pretty off-the-wall cars, so, what might this be? What more do you have on this '71 Duster? Where did you witness this fender tag? Someone you know, car show, random? Was it in Canada where the article from Mopar Muscle states they were built and sold? If you have any info, please pass it on - after buying and thus, finding out about the '71 and '72 Canadian Swinger 340 Specials, it would be interesting to know if these did/do infact exist as well. Thanks in advance... Cg

I was curious if anyone has an idea how many 1971 Duster Twisters were produced ? I had a 1971 ( still in my garage traded my brother for a 168 Dart post race car ) The Twister is original paint ev2 318 bench seat automatic still has the sticker on the back bought new in Twin Falls Idaho. I was the 3rd owner brother who has it now owned it before.
I cant sem to find any info on them ?

I know this is an old post but I am looking for the same info. Mine was curious yellow, black stripes, scoops and vinyl top with a 318 3 speed.

I spoke with Galen about this once and He claimed to know. He said he was saving it for his next book.

Trying to fix this photo so it could be seen better
Hey simopar, I'm sorry I didn't see the image of a fendertag you posted earlier, like almost 3 years, haha. Gotta love FABO, never gives you prompts.
Anyway, it certainly shows the 'A51' Twister code and is stamped 'E55' and has an 'H' in the 6th spot in the VIN along with the VS29 meaning Duster 340 - hmmm. I also see a 'U' which is a US spec car.
With that said, do you own this car? Do you know of this car or did you happen on this fender tag? It certainly is interesting - so please give us more info. Thanks.

Thanks for the update. Just a couple more questions on it tho... was that car in the US or Canada? And was it close to you?
