I want to light up the slant in the scamp but the wiring is a mess and there are electrical parts missing on the car and at some point in history, someone tried putting electronic ignition in the car and none of it really makes sense.

Take your time, it will run with just the coil and starter wired.
Im in the same boat, the next thing i did was get ignition switch working. Then got charging system working.
I have been pirating my wiring one piece at a time from my parts trucks and adapting.
