Poll - How far away from home do you drive your classic?

-
I think I saw you guys up there last year. Are you part of the Twisted axle car club?

Yes sir that's our club. We had 7 cars driving the trip with 2 in a trailer. Mike's '70 Coronet ((SuperBee clone) driven) and Woody's '71 Duster (in a trailer) were both contestants in the (Murray) Pfaff St. Ignace Cup. Woody's Duster made it to the final 6.

About 2500 miles when I first bought it.
I bought the 64 Dart in my avatar picture in Santa Monica last summer sight unseen. In fact I had just found it on Craigslist a week earlier.
I then drove it back to MN via rt 66. Best trip of my life! The only trouble it gave me was the points about 3/4 of the way home.
This was a mostly original 90,000 mile car as well.
The AAA card was in my pocket and was trembling the whole way. haha

Drove the Dart 300 miles on Saturday. 3.91 gears with 28" tires. Wishing I had 3.23 gears once I got on the interstate (should have just avoided it). It's a pooch out of the hole with them though.

I have 4.10s and an A-500 overdrive auto. It's pretty sweet but I might try 3.91s to drop the RPM at cruise just a bit! If I get my motor sorted out I am toying with the idea of driving it from home here in Martensville Saskatchewan Canada to Jake's Drag Strip in Alabama for the Mopars VS. Brand X race put on by the Ratty Muscle Cars guys. That depends on the borders opening up too though!
