Lost A Good Cat Today
I'm sorry for your loss. I was never a "cat person" myself. But, when I bought my home 3 1/2 years ago, D.C. the barn cat conveyed. D.C. wasn't much of a mouser, but she was the sweetest most laid back cat I had ever met. She loved attention, and would always come when her name was called. I would often sit in front of the barn petting her. Before my new garage was built, my buddies and I used the barn for working on our Mopars, and D.C. would always supervise and occasionally step in to help. Now that the new garage is complete, she was just starting to get used to going in there with us with all the doors closed while we worked on cars. Sadly, she passed right before Christmas and right after I had gone away for the Christmas holiday. My buddy found her in extreme discomfort outside of the barn, and took her to the all night emergency vet. There was no telling what was wrong, but I was informed it would be well over $1000 for critical care and the initial tests to find out what was wrong. Meanwhile, she was in really bad shape, and there was no telling what the results of tests would be or if she would recover. After a few long phone conversations with the vet, I made the hard decision to have her put down. I hated that I couldn't be there myself. We know she was at least 10-12 years old, but she could have been older than that. D.C. (Darn Cat) will be missed.
