I went port injection EFI on my tunnel ram but I think throttle body injection would still be better than carbs. The fuel still has to travel a long ways so you might have some of the same drivability problems that can come up with tunnel rams and carbs but it should be way less, it will also be way easier to adjust of course.
I had a Holley Pro Dominator T-ram converted to EFI for my W2 small block. It picked up some power and drives better than it did with a 4150 EFI manifold on it.
