CAST CRANK or STEEL CRANK?

Cast or Steel Crank? Very little markings on this crank, need feedback. :BangHead:

In your first picture you can see the width of the parting line just below the main bearing.

That's a forged steel crank. If it was cast, that parting line would be very thin.
 
I find it easier to look at the counter weights instead of the parting line. I can tell at a glance by looking at the weights.

When in doubt , stand it on its end and tap the counter weight w/ a small ball peen , cast=thud , forged =ping----------
 
cast cranks have sharp counterweight corners. Forged are all rounded

newer aftermarket forged are cleaner looking than old OEM ones, can tell by full fillet bearings too. Cast usually have back cut bearing surface corners too.
