New purchase 68 Formula S

-
This Charger is '68 B-5. Sure looks like the same color as 63spf's car (but the lighting my make it look slightly different).

I am definitely not an expert when it come to Mopar colors by years ! But I was told by one that the Abody QQ1 is different that the B5 !
It sure does look close, but hard to tell !

So your ride is finished in QQ1?

Not even close to being done, but that is the paint code on fender tag

I am usually not a fan of second gen Barracudas in High Impact colors like orange, lime green, yellow, purple and orange, but that does look NICE! I know Omaha Orange is different, but you know what I mean.

I saw a 318 car that Jack McCormack purchased about 15 years ago, and brought back here to Michigan.
That one had Rocker Gills and Hood Mounted Turn Indicators.

Sounds about right. Body had plenty of dings 360*, but fairly rust free.

I believe the consensus on a pre-1969 EB5 equivalent is "881".

Hey Dukes,
Have seen a few pic's of your car on-line, Very Nice! I have one as well that I have been working on.
I'm sure there are more, but I have only seen 3 Formula S's in orange. Your's, the Washington St car, and mine.
I know very little about my car, other than it came to Michigan from California in the late 70's, early 80's.
It was driven until the late 80's then parked until I bought it in 2004.

Thanks Randy. I don't know much. Lol... was hoping you had info! You are the first person I have talked to that ownes one.
I spoke to Galen about these cars once, at that time there were only 2 registered with him, the Washington St car and mine.
I know it came from California, but that' s about it. It was in very nice condition when I bought it. What started out as a Paint Job kinda Snowballed into a full restoration.

Mine is originally from Santa Barbara (not sure of dealer) special ordered, I have the build sheet and from what we can tell it has been touched very little. It even has the orginal spare tire.

Man, it's awesome. Love the originality! If mine was like yours, I would have never touched it. It was very original but it had a couple of bad Touch Up's on the paint.
It was a very easy restoration, no rust. I reused many of the original nuts/bolts/parts. They are pretty close in build dates. Mine was 6-03-68. Looks like options are pretty close too. Same trim, hub caps, tires, & special ordered. I've had the car since 2004, and just now able to get it finished. Life, Son, mini recession, new house all put it on the back burner for a few years. Almost done with it now though.

Looks great Mike.

Love it, is yours an auto? I am wondering how many more of these we can find?
