Exactly........ no rush.
Take your time.

Does your state still use a title for vehicles that old?

The greed of Illinois, when you scrap a vehicle it has to have a title in your name. If it's not in your name the money goes to who's ever name is on it. And don't try to scrap one without a title they won't take it.
Every vehicle has to have a title. And if it has plates on it even if it's sitting there without an engine in it, it has to have insurance.

I pretty much keep all vehicles plated and insured because I drive them. I lose interest real fast if I can't hop in and go for a spin. This Duster I'm dealing on will need to be able to be street legal or it won't be a part of my fleet.

Just remember, if you hurry and it blows up you can always take your time the next time. Life is funny that way.

I'm probably overdue for a KaBoom!. LOL. 34 years of beating on approximately 45 - 50 small block mopars, some big blocks mopars, A bodies, B bodies, C bodies, F bodies, M bodies, Pickups, Ramchargers, Van, Durango, Dakota, Ram, you get the idea, and haven't lost one yet .... LOL. My time and day is coming.... KaBOOM!

^^^^^ But don't hold your breath, or it won't come in your lifetime... :D

Oh man. You know that's a sign of crazy...............
Answering you one questions:poke:

I built a budget 10 sec. 440 off of ebay parts. That was back when there was actually good deals on ebay. Some of the parts were comp solid cam and lifters 100.00, intake 125.00, ss valves 80.00, trw pistons 200.00and more I cant remember. also used dymanic 3800 converter 300.00 still works great after 15 yrs. Just have to wait for deals.
I guess I'm not the only one to risk using a used converter! Worked out well for me too. I found a good used FTI 3400-3600 9.5" converter for my car. Took sellers word for it that it was from a parted out car. This converter does a world a difference from a brand new converter from Dacco which was a 10" 2800 stall or so. No comparison the FTI blows it away!:steering:

Leaving now to go look at a "possibility" vehicle.... LOL

Ok, we bought a vehicle. It's really going to challenge reaching 10.9's, but we'll go as fast as our budget allows. We aren't disappointed, well do the best we can. GO TEAM!!!!! My daughter wants to help also :)
It's buried in snow and they will deliver it by next weekend
