I spent the late afternoon doing some more vintage gas ad restoration and learned something I never knew before.
Apparently Sunoco had licensed the Disney characters for use in their advertising back in the late 1930s...
Also learned that Dr. Seuss did a bunch of illustrations for Standard Oil and then later for Esso. He created new characters for the ads and didn’t use any of the ones from his books.
