I used to be responsible for tape stripes and decals at the truck plant...
Make sure surface is clean - wet wipe and dry wipe before installing...
Body temp should be between 50° - 90°, preferably above 70° is best....
Part with adhesive should be between 70° - 90° (mostly applies to tape held moldings)....
Spray body with soap water solution, only two or three drops of dish soap to a full spray bottle of water...
Apply decal and get in proper position...
Squeegee water from decal using the edge of a bondo style plastic paddle going from the center outward...
If there are any bubbles under the film/decal, get a pin and poke a hole at the edge of the bubble and use paddle to push water out from under decal...
Adhesive will get to full strength within 24 hours...
The soap/water solution will make it easier to reposition the decal if it's not correct when you originally position it...
