Kickdown linkage question #3 w/video

Finally got linkage adjusted and in the right space. I can’t seem to get full throttle on the carburetor when it’s hooked up. The kickdown linkage doesn’t move far enough back to allow full throttle at the carburetor.
 
I'm thinking you'll have to adapt to a complete later type kick down assembly to use the ThermoQuad.
 
No it wasn't me but I would bet money that's going to be your best bet!
 
Police car? that was me Here it is and I just grabbed another set up on Face book market place. This 318 4bbl out of a diplomat police car was just on face book for sale. So they are still out there. I paid $100 for everything and it had a fresh trans. The linkage was worth more than I paid for the motor and trans

Was it a set that went with that powertrain? If anyone ever pulled the motor and trans together - the one piece rods often get bent. Carefully, slowly "tighten" a bend to get a shorter overall rod. OR - If the throttle pressure is working correctly - cut the slot longer.
 
You will never get a one piece system to work on an A-body. 71 on up B and E body or C-body will take a one piece. No A-bodies or pre 71 B's. There is not enough firewall clearance.
 
Thank you for everyone’s reply. Haven’t gotten it completely set up yet so haven’t put the springs on yet.

I'm modifying my kick down linkage from a 2bbl set up, adding 2 inches to the rod. How far from the back of the slot is the tab for the spring? And where do I find/buy the right spring?
