Stop in for a cup of coffee

From a literal science perspective you'd think land travel would be quicker than airplane travel.

On land it's the circumference of the earth, by air it's the circumference of the earth plus 30000 feet so that circumference will be significantly larger and is a much longer distance to travel.
True...but it’s hard to travel at 570 mph on the ground like you can at 30,000 feet. And there is that whole over the ocean thing to consider.

The distance maybe somewhat farther, but much faster on an aircraft and no change in terrain from land to sea involved.

Besides, on land you can only travel where the roads are...and they are never in a straight line to where you want to go.
