I wonder if these modifications end up moving the insulator hole to a different position? Hopefully not, and probably not but a half inch off on a mount ends up putting the trans tail shaft off a lot more than that. I'm sure folks would have noticed that though, and mentioned it.

Won't move it at all; two of the three mounting bolts on each side remain exactly the same, and the mount position remains the same.

As an aside, if you have nothing to work with I can maybe see spending $$$$ buying new brackets, but if you already have 273/318 brackets, they can be modified to work every bit as well as factory 340/360 brackets for basically nothing, or for minimal cost even if you have to farm out welding the passenger side bracket. This hobby is expensive enough without spending money you don't have to.
