Stop in for a cup of coffee

From what I hear, most trials are a bust...
The rule of thumb is that for every 1000 clinical trials conducted, 10 move to the next stage.

Of those 10, 1 may make it to a new drug application with FDA.

Of those that get to FDA, only about 20% get approved.

Wonder why drugs cost so much? Every clinical trial costs $20-50 million and hundreds of millions are spent just getting one to FDA.

My last company spent $800 million on development and even though 3 drugs were approved, the net profits were only about $120 million as a return on investment.

Investors lost $680 million.
