Hello All,
Can anyone provide a vendor where I can get some OEM style wiring harness Non Adhesive Non Rubberized coated Cloth Fabric type tape?
Early 70's Plymouth harness.

Thanks in advance,

Friction tape, I have found it sometimes at a local hardware, but they also sell iron skillets and ammo. I have bought it on line like Feebay. Cheap. OK maybe not cheap at Feebay!

Yep friction tape we use it regularly at work of course 3m brand is the best.

At one time I bought something like this, maybe it even was this.
1966-74 A B E-Body Cloth Wiring Tape (1X82')

They also have the plastic version which is what most of the harnesses on my 67 are wrapped with.

Is it any different than friction tapes? That I don't know.

Hockey tape. But its adhesive. Tough as nails.

Everything I've read and seen indicates vinyl and cloth harness wraps were always without adhesive.

I got a good sized roll from a Ford dealer tech. They had a recall of some sort and the tape was included but all of it wasn't used.

the friction tape is tacky but only sticks well to it’s self. all harness tape has to have some type of tackiness to it otherwise it wouldn’t stay on think about it this way what keeps it on the roll?

The friction tape does stick to itself but unlike electric tape heat from the engine does not affect its ability to hold to itself. Common stuff in the old auto world.

Friction tape, Mc-Master Carr sells it.

I *think* I bought this from YO early 90s.
Could have been Restoration Specialties Supply or someone else.
Only clue of manufacture is as pictured

Found some other leads on non-adhesive harness tapes plastic and fabric.

Post 6 in this one mentions Elliot ET935 is cloth and along with two vinyl tapes of the same brand.
Wire harness tape

This is pretty cool video showing oriignal harness taping machine in operation.

Lectric Limited | GM Mopar Ford Corvette Wiring Harnesses / Spark Plug Wires / Battery Cables / Switches
They also sell tape. The tape in the video is/was made by Plymouth - Bishop?

Another reference to Elliot tapes with a photo.

Thanks Mattax,
Nice investigative work.
True sentiment to what the FABO community is all about.
I will get a roll of the Elliot ET935 is cloth and let you all know what it looks like.
I already have three other samples but not really exact to OEM.
Work still in progress.
Also thanks to Cudascott for his help.
Happy Mopar :)

Wonder what that know it all dude on GraveYard Cars uses!!??? I'm like lots of people, I rather buy the correct thing as not. Even the friction tape I fond at the local hardware looked just lk OEM to me. Then thy stopped carrying it, did not sell enough they said.
Thing is electric tape will get hot under the hood and lose its ability to stick/

That's interesting. Elliot's Website shows the ET935 also has rubber adhesive. I don't know if that's a very light tack or more like a regular adhesive. Prob worth a call to the manufacturer.
The stuff I got from year one has a very slight tack to it I think.
might also be worth calling Lectric Limited.
