Interesting that most soaps don't kill the germs but the washing and rinsing get's rid of the nasties. Gravity!
It’s the surfactants that bind to the surface of the bugs and envelops them so that they lift off the skin and then the water can rinse them away.

That’s why the 30 seconds of active washing with the soap is so important. You need to work the surfactants around to scrub and give them sufficient time for them to completely envelop the bugs.
