This morning I decided to take my barracuda for a drive, even though I am supposed to be sheltering in place and not going outside. Which is the perfect time to go for a cruise, especially in the bay area with the amount of normal traffic

Quick backstory, the car is almost all the way broke in, tons of suspension upgrades/changes, rear disc brakes, new rear end, 4link rear suspension, solid 408 and a change to manual steering. Pretty much a new car to drive

I live inland (san jose) and decided to drive to toward the coast (scotts valley) which is a two-lane mountain highway with lots of twists, turns, climbs and descents as you roll through redwoods. A great drive that is usually full of slow cars and trucks. I know the highway well, just not in the barracuda

This morning the road was pretty much wide open, I was able to drive uninhibited with a few obstacles to negotiate. I pushed the car; the manual steering is a little different but predictable. To be honest I liked that extra connection to the road that was offered with this steering change. There was a wimpy m3 driver out but lost them on the first S turn and never saw them again.

The takeaway – there is a positive to the pandemic, I can drive my car the way I want, with out having to monitor the temp gauge. I had a blast; it was probably one of the better drives I’ve ever done. I am looking forward to next weekend and better weather

Sorry no pictures, driving

But here is the stance of the car now

Great,I know that drive well,Been traveling that route since My teens. We also go for little drives along some of the backroads here but even in town and on the bay area freeways there has been little to no traffic at all! I've also just been enjoying spending all day working in the yard.
Car looks awesome BTW

I have seen more accidents & near misses in the last 10 days than in the last 20 years combined.

Drivers seem to be too distracted to drive safely, even with a lot less traffic on the roads.

The 'upside' I see & hear is kids playing outside & people of all ages getting out for walks & hikes as families.

....another upside to this outbreak....the media is no longer forcing all sorts of not exactly truthful facts about the Opioid crisis down our throats....

Funny that. The opposite it true here, people are driving slower and being more courteous. It’s as if they are extending their social distancing and courtesy to the road.

Going for a drive by yourself is "Social Distancing" you know.
Nice car.

FU@K YEAH BUDDY!!

I cant express how happy i am that you are happy!

Thats what i love to do, make customers happy.

I honestly need more folks like you in the shop. You are welcome ANYTIME at blackheart racing!!

Swing by when you get a chance. Id like to look over the car just beacuse.

The only loose nut i want is the one behind the wheel.

Stay well brother!

The cool thing is your car is a terror up, down, left, right and carrying a full interior..
Yet im still a bit nervous about lining up for the straight...

I think you are baiting me, your car is fierce. However I am sure we can find some time and place to have our post apocalypse race.

It is a pleasant throwback, my neighborhood is full of life. Family units walking, riding and playing outside like I've never experienced. I have 3 kids; 14, 10 and 8 and have to go outside with them. We blocked our driveway (so have some other families) to help contain basketballs during our "recess" games. Also started doing other activities and challenges. So far I actually lost a pound and still suck at basketball

Nice car. What size wheels and tires are those?

Great drive, buddy of mine had a cabin in the Santa Cruz Mountains and we’d drive down that way all the time through Freedom, best meat market ever there. Fun drive!

Car looks fantastic, glad your getting it out and enjoying it. Gas is cheap go burn it up!

Well I thought I would tackle some unfinished projects with isolation orders in place.
1. Mig welding...seeing as how I had bought a full bottle of argon mix and regulator months ago i figured i would practice up. Short lived....mastercraft welder i put 1/4 spool of fluxcore thru in past 5 years took a ****. 5 seconds of gas welding and circuit board has went for a crap. Not sure what's wrong, but drive motor for mig wire isnt getting a signal for some reason.
#2 Fix frickin welder!
#3. Bought a new set of stainless windshield trim from a member on here but USPS and Canada Post managed to put a couple wrinkles in a piece.
Got about 80% of wrinkles out so far. Better than what I thought I would get out. To be continued.
#4 Picnic table. Milder weather so I thought I would make a new PT. Got new pt 2×4 then snow for next day dangit!
Brought wood into shop to thaw out. So clamped it to help keep it straight HOPEFULLY! ANY 2x6 pressure treated I've used twists and splits all to ****! Redid posts and railing on deck last year after only being 1 year old.
Put dads compound mitre saw to use.
What's everyone doing project wise?
Anyone know how to test circuit board or relay on welder ?
