My 422 smallblock build
Ken said 236/242 @.050 with .564/.570 on a 108 on the small side and for something a little bigger 242/250 @.050 with .600/.600 on 110 lsa. He was a little concerned about cylinder pressure and pump gas with the 108 lsa. I think the bigger cam ground on a 108 would be pretty awesome as long as I could sneak up on the tune and keep it cool.
My first cam on a 107 had a 259-267 duration with a with a 582-603 lift with 1.6 to 1 rockers... 546-566 Lift when I had Factory 273 rockers... Mechanical solid lifters I'm about 11.3 to 1 compression....
And those days I ran 100ll av gas..
This cam did not hold an idle very well and was not much fun on the street whatsoever.. it would easily wind far past 7k at the track, but I didn't see any better results than shifting app 5800 to 6300...
Remember this was when I had the car would I call on full kill with light wheels, race buckets, 410 gears, roll bar ECT...
wanting to put the car on the street more and still be able to go to the track at times I cut the role bar out, looking for interior in with steel wheels and comforts..
I took the cam down to Ken for its second regrind.. I wanted a better idle and was looking to run pump gas...
It is now a 238 248 duration with a 506 526 lift on a 108... And idles nicely and with an extra 300 lb in Street comforts and much heavier rims I'm still within 1/2 second at the track or better... Although I can run 92 pump gas it won't shut off it will run on so I add a couple gallons of 110 Sunoco and no problems..
I'm not sure if next time I'm going to try and get the cam more manipulated for pump gas or I'm just going to lower my compression which I'll probably do anyways what's my current nitrous interest...
