What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Just doing a bunch of small crap.
Fixed a loose connection at the voltage reg.
Removed the kickdown lever off the trans, and shortened it up a bit, moved the stud for the cable in about 1/2". Still need to drive and re-adjust to see if it helps.
Mounted a couple of gauge pods under the dash, did some wiring, have the oil pressure and volt meter working, still need to finish the wiring for the wideband gauge.
Drilled and tapped a couple 1/4-20 holes in the side of my subframe connector and added a couple of mounts to secure my fuel line better.
Maybe some more stuff tomorrow.

I had no idea Arizona was so beautiful. Always wanted to go out west, maybe I'll have to make a plan.

It has it's places, and others look like you are on the moon.:D
I live close to the national forest around 5k feet elevation.
This pic is about an hour north of me at one of my favorite places to camp and ride.

Dropped the heater box on the Demon on Sunday, since it was nice out...+15C, to replace the heater core (old one leaked more than went through it...lol).....easy enough to drop the whole box.
I ordered the TSM heater core (after seeing from others here that the other brands did not fit correctly), and what a chore it is to get these "replacement" heater cores to fit in......I knew I would be in for a little extra work, due to everyone advising none of the new cores fit correctly (old one was too pooched to save or rebuild)........after trimming the flange on core and making the openings a little bigger....it is in.......still is not a solid fit. How can any of these manufacturers today call these replacements???
Anyone needing to replace your heater core, try to get your original rebuilt first.....probably worth the time, money and effort to do it.
Ordered the rebuild gasket kit from Mr Moparts, so replacing all that is next........oh, and took her for a spin just to make sure the rear tires still spun and smoked....CHECK! lol

Today I'm going to do bearings and rings in the engine for the Chevrolet Duster. I haven't done that in years, but I'm sure it will come back like everything else!

Hey guys how about sharing some of the drugs. Nooo not the Mopar drug, the little pills. They sure must be good.

I got a place in Tennessee in a way out location next to a national forest can't be 40 houses there thought it would be nice. Well the drugies and dealers thought the same thing. What a nightmare.

Today is wiring the RB to a new 340 harness and changing to efi. I am eliminating the ecu, the voltage regulator and the ballast resistor. Also adding a distribution block for (+) wires to the line lock, ignition module, distributor, and efi and the sense wire for the alternator. Trying to keep it as neat as possible.

I took my 67 Barracuda out for a drive after dinner and bet the hell out of it and put it away with a smile on my face.

Mission almost complete. New battery cables tomorrow and then I can attach the rest.

Well the engine touch up has been extended a bit. I found a few cracked rings but one had done damage to both the piston and the cylinder wall. Fortunately I have a mint, standard bore 4 bolt main sitting here. I wasn't planning on that but oh well!
Yes the numbers are incorrect! It is the way the previous builder has them stamped.

I found the trunk key today! Unfortunately what I was looking for wasn't there. O yes I also found the axle shafts. Not all bad.

Detonation ?
Were you hitting this with a power adder ?

I never ran this engine. It was a friends build from years ago. He gave it to me to use in the Nova. I do not think he had any power adders........but he did use the power! The first vehicle he put t in was a Nissan truck. A 350 in a Nissan has lots of go fast! It was in a couple others after that. I'm just trying to make a nice little driver out of it.

Done gasket matching the heads.

The tungsten burr bit isn't as good as the stones. I went through two stones like that black one and didn't bother with the other bits. Also did a little blending around the valve guides, those pics in the next post.

Here I did some blending on the valve guides on both heads. I wasn't up to spending the time to make the valve guide areas into nice airfoils.

i almost hat the "dislike" button on that, because my welds dont look anywhere near that nice

Thank you, he has 15 tig welding certs anytime i need anything critical done i have him do it.

awesome
i miss having access to a full shop, including people who know what they are doing

so, i got to do my own welding, with a little 110 fluxcore welder

its ugly, but it will hold
(last year i welded up a whole framework on the boys for wheeler to mount a winch and plow, and that held up great)
