Hope everyone is well in these crazy times. I am installing all new brake components and need help with ID and a schematic for this proportioning valve . It came with a bunch of parts with the car. There was a pic on a piece of paper with it and I marked the positions on the valve. I am not confident in The picture I found with the parts. Does anyone recognize this valve and have a schematic for it ?
Thanks for the help. :poke:

That's a distribution block, aka safety switch block.
Doesn't look familiar.
What is the black cap covering?

not a fan of guessing or hacking brake system.
My advice is find the correct pieces for the system.

Mattax.
I agree about not messing around with brakes. Do it right. That's why I was wondering if this part is common or someone recognized it.
Under the black cap is a smalll pin , cap keeps it clean.
Thanks,

It's a standard disc/drum one for a GM car or light truck. These work pretty well. You can buy mounting brackets to put them right below the master cylinder instead of buried down alongside the framerail.

The block is labelled correctly going out to the wheels, its incorrect as far as which line feeds which side.

A master cylinder piston is actually 2 sizes in one. The smaller part of the piston is at the front. The larger piston is at the rear. The larger part of the piston assembly ports more fluid for front disc brakes.

Typically The front port of the master feeds the rear brakes part of the brake block. Rear port of the master feeds the front brake part of the brake block. However even though that's a majority of them, it's a general rule but not always the case.

Easiest way to tell which is which is look at the reservoir on your master cylinder. The larger of the 2 chambers is your front brake side, smaller of the 2 is rear brakes.

The pin could be a release for the metering valve.
That's very different than a proportioning valve. A metering valve is used to hold off the initial application of the brakes to the front under light pressure. This helps reduce lock up on icey road - more so on certain vehicles than others.
More about the different components in here: 1970 Imperial & Chrysler Brake Hydraulics Facts Reference Book (Session 274)
Chrysler valves for '72 are pictured on the last page of this booklet.

You were correct about this being a GM style combination block. I just googled it. Thank you for helping to ID this thing and the information. There is a break down there that explained it and a schematic .
FABO members are very helpful.
Bailed me out a few times .....:mob:

Thanks again.

Crazy that you posted this today because I was getting ready to start the same thread lol. When I disassembled my car I took lots and lots of reassemble photos and somehow I lost that sd card. All my photos are gone so alot of this stuff I dont remember how it came apart. I'm gonna try to run some brake lines this week this week.

It's in the "Brakes for your classic mopar" forum on this site. He sent them in the post. Idk how to send them to u. Look under that forum,. If you know how I can take the pics he sent as a responce in a thread , let me know. Try looking under that brake section and search " brake line diagram"
