I'm hoping someone can help me here. I have the car on the rotisserie. The complete drivetrain is removed, the fuel tank is removed, and the left front suspension is removed. The right side is coming off. Ones I start tilting this thing it either tries to run away or takes my full 250lbs to get to move. I have the balancing point as high as I can get it. The rotisserie is a titan 4500lb. I've attached some pictures. Can some offer some input please? This is my first rotisserie experience.

Looks to me that you need to make offset brackets to move higher up body line.

Looks to me like you need to lower the body and get your pivot axis more in line with the centerline of the body... looks like all your body's weight is above the pivot which would make it act as you described.

I can lower it with this fancy contraption. I'll try lowering it and see how that works. My fat *** has been struggling. I was thinking it needed to go higher which would require different brackets. Ill report back with my findings.

Thanks again.

My 65 Barracuda, balanced on the rotisserie. The rear pivot point is centered on the trunk key hole. I placed a level on the lower door jam (rocker) and adjusted the front until the bubble was centered. The height of the rear pivot was based on having the car as low as possible on the rotisserie, but still allow 360 degree rotation. The rotation of the car is done with very little effort. It does have a slight "over center" feel when passing through 90 degrees, but just for a couple of turns on the crank. There is nothing on my car...just the body shell.

Thanks for the input folks. Lowering the car in relation to the rotating joint made a huge difference. Wish I had one of those hand cranks. I dont know why i thought i should raise it more.

Doors are still on my car. Just keeping them closed. I checked the gaps before putting it on the lift and after and there was no change. Not too worried about the doors.
